The Team
Richard Foster-Hall is an independent furniture maker, based in Warwick, but serving customers throughout the UK. Richard himself has a degree in Mechanical Engineering and is skilled in concept design, quality and project management.
He successfully couples this with his lifelong interest in antique furniture, and its design, construction and restoration. His team includes three qualified furniture makers and an upholsterer, with other skilled craftsmen brought in when needed.
Your Commission
Our designs combine elegance and balance, such as typified by the Georgian period, with the clarity of contemporary works. Fundamentally our philosophy is that a piece of furniture should be a study in classical tradition - a dignified, grammatical and coherent structure, executed in a way that reflects the character and movement of the timber. Your commission should have visual strength and balance, neither overbalanced nor overbearing.
When you commission a piece of furniture from Richard Foster-Hall, it will complement its surroundings and at the same time, be complemented by them. Above all, whether you are looking for a traditional or contemporary piece, it will never be controversial simply by using shock tactics to announce its presence.
In keeping with our design philosophy, we use traditional construction techniques such as dovetailing and mortice and tenon joints, together with modern machining methods and adhesives.
